Position Overview
ConXtech is currently seeking an experienced technical writer to manage the documentation of critical processes across the organization. This person will work closely with the manufacturing & supply chain teams to document company processes and recommend process improvements. Additionally, s/he will be tasked to organize all documentation in a structured manner within the company’s database. The ideal person for this job has experience writing concise work instructions in a technical and manufacturing environment, and is able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. This position is key to ConXtech’s growth as we move towards documenting key processes that will allow us to continue to scale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage document control of the company’s supply chain process, including but not limited to process instructions, drawings, models, and part specifications.
- Work closely with diverse technical teams (e.g. manufacturing team, supply chain team and design team) to develop clear and concise work instructions for departments including but not limited to manufacturing, logistics and product development.
- Work on quality issues to identify the root cause and implement short- and/or long-term countermeasures.
- Capture opportunities for supply chain improvements and work with leadership to prioritize them.
- Document Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements for different departments across the organization.
- Prepare reports with graphs or other visual tools to summarize data collection efforts.
- Ensure that all drawings critical to the supply chain have Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) on them, and that a proper tolerance stack up analysis has been completed on each part/assembly.
- Standardize documentation formatting across all areas where involved.
- Create process flow diagrams, where applicable, to aid with rapid understanding of the process.
- Proactively identify key areas for improvement that may require work instructions and/or document control.
- Work with programs including Inventor Vault and Microsoft Visio to document and store processes
- Perform any additional reasonable tasks consistent with your professional abilities that may be requested by the company.
Qualifications
Knowledge
- 1-3 years of experience as an engineer working with manufacturing and product development teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in applicable Engineering field or equivalent Engineering experience.
- At least one year of experience improving processes for a manufacturing company.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to describe complex and technical topics clearly, accurately, and appropriately for target audience.
- Proficient in using a document control system such as Autodesk Vault or any other system capable of storing documentation and generating Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Visio and other Microsoft Office tools.
